In Mississippi, there are more than 90,000 oil and gas jobs. We are first in natural gas pass-through and produce 68.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. Chevron's Pascagoula refinery has the 9th largest refining capacity in the U.S. processing 330,000 barrels per day of crude oil.

BP America's facility can process 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day and up to 50,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids.

A Trained and Ready Workforce

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) Training Programs

Recently, MGCCC entered into an agreement with Houston Community College, San Jacinto Community College and Jones Junior College to provide specialized training for the oil and gas industry. The community colleges will collaborate on instructional material, laboratory specifications, workshops, seminars, professional development, student recruitment and career placement.

Mississippi State University's Bagley College of Engineering also offers engineering degrees in partnership with MGCC.
